Tom Hakemi is experienced in advising individuals, private and public companies, as well as professional organizations, in a broad range of commercial civil litigation and government investigations.
He has represented clients before courts and regulatory agencies in Canada and in the United States, such as the British Columbia Securities Commission and the United States Securities and Exchange Commission. He has represented clients in arbitrations before various tribunals, including the American Arbitration Association and the National Association of Securities Dealers. He advises clients before disputes materialize and throughout mediation, litigation and appeals.
He is admitted to practice in British Columbia and in New York. He is an adjunct professor of law at the University of British Columbia and Co-Chair of the Civil Litigation Section of the Canadian Bar Association British Columbia Branch.
